Alan Martín Caudillo
Alan's grandfather emigrated from Chihuahua, Mexico to Laramie, Wyoming, fleeing the violence of the Revolution (its a great story, just ask!). Born in Laramie but raised in Colorado, he Studied Film and Political Science at the University of Colorado, and, as it turns out learned a great deal about both from avant-garde filmmaker and mentor Stan Brakhage.
Alan photographed his first feature film, The Shot in 1994 and has since worked as a DP on numerous features, television shows, commercials, documentaries and music videos. Directors he collaborated with include Eva Longoria-Bastón, Henry Jaglom, Sergio Arau, Reginald Hudlin, Kat Coiro, Ravi Kapoor, and Simon West (on several features and commercials). He has shot movies in England, Mexico, Chile, Malaysia, Canada, China, and all over the United States. And even thought he's Mexican-American he studied German for 8 years but still speaks Spanish better.
Alan, for some reason, studied poetry at the Anne Waldman/Allen Ginsberg founded Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa University and enjoys writing stuff, which you can see here.
Alan currently lives in Los Angeles. He recently finished shooting the Netflix feature Plus/Minus for Director Wanuri Kahiu, and is currently shooting the Fox drama series The Cleaning Lady.
